Areas

Areas represent groups of security and access control devices that are usually physically near one another and are more easily controlled as a single entity, for example when arming or disarming.

The arm schedule is used to determine when an area can be disarmed and when the area is not allowed to be disarmed. If the time period is enabled, then this area is allowed to be disarmed. If this time period is disabled, then the area is not allowed to be disarmed. If an area is disarmed and the time period expires such that it is no longer allowed to be disarmed, then a late to close event is generated. A macro condition is triggered when an area has a late to close event. If a user attempts to disarm an area and the time period prevents them from disarming this area, then there could be a user group property to allow them to access this area outside of the scheduled hours. In this situation, the user is granted access only for the configured time period. If the area schedule is set to 0, then this area is permanently armed by default.

A user is able to extend the end time of the disarm period by using the keypad to select “extend disarm” which will extend the disarm period for an additional configurable time.
