Adding an Ethernet Expansion Card
- From the left navigation pane, click Hardware.

From the top navigation bar, click Profiles.
- In the Hardware Profiles page, find and select the site profile to which you wish to add a device.

Click Edit on the profile tile. You can also click
and select Edit from the list. -
In the Edit Profile page, click the Configurations tab.

In the Devices section, click New Device then select Ethernet Expansion from the drop-down list.
The Add New Ethernet Expansion wizard displays.
- On the Select Template page, choose the Default Template.
- Click Next.

On the Add New Ethernet Expansion page, complete the details.
Field
Description
Name
Enter a unique and meaningful name.
The name should contain only alphanumeric characters and no spaces.
Up to 255 characters can be used.
Description
Enter more information about the device.
General
Logical ID
Enter a unique identifier for the device connected to the S1000 Controller. Allowed range is 0-254.
Expansion Slot
Click + to find and select the appropriate expansion slot on the S1000 Controller that is being used by this Dual Ethernet Expansion Card.
Area
Click + to find and select the area where the device is located.
By default, the area with the lowest logical ID in the site profile is selected.
Expansion Ethernet
Click + to find and select an option.
Available options:
- Leave Existing - expansion board Ethernet settings will not be downloaded to the S1000. The settings programmed using the keypad or mobile app are retained.
- Enable - the Ethernet port on the expansion board is enabled.
- Disable - the Ethernet port on the expansion board is disabled.
If Ethernet is Enabled on the expansion board, the following fields are displayed:
DHCP
Toggle OFF or ON Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol to automatically assign the IP addresses.
IP Address
Enter the IP address of the Dual Ethernet Expansion Card.
Subnet Mask
Enter the IP address of the sub-net mask for the Dual Ethernet Expansion Card.
Gateway
Enter the IP address of the gateway.
DNS
Enter the IP address of the domain name system.
Disable MAC and ARP Processing
Toggle OFF or ON Media Access Control and Address Resolution Protocol processing.
Enable SNMP
Toggle OFF or ON Simple Network Management Protocol.
Reporting
Report Events
Turn on the toggle to record events.
Report To
Select the connection paths where the recorded events will be reported. Select the checkbox next to the option on the drop-down list or select the Select All checkbox.
High Priority
Turn on the toggle to assign high priority to this device.
- Click Next.
- On the Create Additional Points page, click Create.
