Adding a Keypad

1. From the left navigation pane, click Hardware.

2. From the top navigation bar, click Profiles.

3. In the Hardware Profiles page, find and select the site profile to which you wish to add a device.

4. Click Edit on the profile tile. You can also click and select Edit from the list.

5. In the Edit Profile page, click the Configurations tab.

6. In the Devices section, click New Device to select Keypad from the drop-down list.

   The Add New Keypad wizard displays.

7. On the Select Template page, choose either the No Reader or With a Reader template.
8. Click Next.

9. On the Add Keypad page, complete the details.

   Field	Description
   Name	Enter a unique and meaningful name. The name should contain only alphanumeric characters and no spaces. Up to 255 characters can be used.
   Description	Enter more information about the device.
   General
   Logical ID	Enter a unique identifier for the device connected to the S1000 Controller. Allowed range is 0-254.
   Serial Port	Click + to find and select the appropriate serial port. Available options: Onboard Isolated - the board is using the PL4-PL5 connection on the S1000 Controller. Onboard Non-Isolated - the board is using the PL5-PL6 connection on the S1000 Controller.
   Device Loop Address	Enter the numerical value of the DIP switch.
   Area	Click + to find and select the area where the device is located. By default, the area with the lowest logical ID in the site profile is selected.
   Alarm Card and PIN Schedule	Click + to find and select a schedule to apply to alarm cards and PINs.
   Limit Area	Turn on the toggle to limit the area associated with the keypad.
   Lockout Time (sec)	Enter a time in seconds that a user will be locked out of the keypad if they have not entered their PIN. The default lockout time is 60 seconds, if the mode is set to default or custom. The default lockout time is 90 seconds, if the mode is set to EN Grade 3 or 4.
   Invalid Login Attempts	Enter the number of failed login attempts that are allowed for a user before they are locked out.
   Company Name	Enter your company name.
   Report Invalid PIN Attempts	Turn on the toggle to report any invalid PIN attempts.
   Encryption Keypads can be configured with encryption keys for secure channel communication between the S1000 Controller and the keypad.
   Encryption Mode	Click + to set encrypted mode of communication for the keypad. The available options are: Unencrypted -The keypad will accept unencrypted communication. Default Key - The keypad will establish encrypted communication sessions with the controller using the default secure channel base key, SCBK-D. Custom Key -The keypad will establish encrypted communication sessions with the controller using a custom secure channel base key, SCBK.
   Custom Key	If the Encryption Mode is set to Custom Key, you can use the system generated encryption key. You can also enter a 128-bit (32 hexadecimal characters) encryption key of your choice. If the keypad was previously configured for encrypted communication, copy-paste the existing key.
   Custom Key Mappings Keypads keys can be custom mapped and a timer associated with them.
   Key	Click + to find and select a keypad key to be mapped.
   Timer	Click + to find and select a timer for the mapped key.
   Reporting
   Report Events	Turn on the toggle to record events.
   Report To	Select the connection paths where the recorded events will be reported. Select the checkbox next to the option on the drop-down list or select the Select All checkbox.
   High Priority	Turn on the toggle to assign high priority to this device.

10. Click Next.
11. On the Create Additional Points page, select the checkbox next to an available Reader.
12. Click Create.
