Adding a Pulse Counter

It is possible to add up to 32 pulse counters, if needed.

A pulse counter will count up to 65535, then count down to 0 and repeat once 0 is reached.

  1. From the left navigation pane, click Hardware.
  2. From the top navigation bar, click Profiles.

  3. In the Hardware Profiles page, find and select the site profile to which you wish to add a device.
  4. Click Edit on the profile tile. You can also click Actions icon. and select Edit from the list.

  5. In the Edit Profile page, click the Configurations tab.

  6. Go to the Pulse Counter section, then click New Pulse Counter.
  7. On the Add New Pulse Counter page, complete the details.

    Description

    Name

    Enter a unique and meaningful name.

    The name should contain only alphanumeric characters and no spaces.

    Up to 255 characters can be used.

    Description

    Enter more information about the device.

    General

    Input Logical ID

    Enter a unique identifier for the device connected to the S1000 Controller.

    Device

    Click + to find and select the device.

    Physical ID on Device

    Enter the unique identifier configured for the device.

    Area

    Click + to find and select the area where the device is located.

    By default, the area with the lowest logical ID in the site profile is selected.

    Minimum Pulse (ms)

    Enter the minimum pulse value that the counter is allowed.

    Polarity

    Click + to select from Low or High polarity.

    Pull Up Resistor

    Toggle OFF or ON to enable a pull up resistor.

    Reporting Frequency (s)

    Enter the time in seconds of how often reporting occurs.

    Pulse Count

    Enter the value of the pulse count.

    Reporting

    Report Events

    Turn on the toggle to record events.

    Report To

    Select the connection paths where the recorded events will be reported. Select the checkbox next to the option on the drop-down list or select the Select All checkbox.

    High Priority

    Turn on the toggle to assign high priority to this device.

  8. Click Create.
