Creating a New Rule

  1. From the left navigation pane,. click Hardware.
  2. From the top navigation bar, click Rules.
  3. Find the rule set you wish to add a new rule to.
  4. Click Edit on the rule set tile.

    or

    Click Actions icon. on the rule set tile then select Edit from the list.

    The Edit Rule Set page displays.

  5. Click the Rules tab.

  6. Click Add Rule Set.
  7. On the Add Rule Set page, enter a Name and Description for the rule.
  8. Toggle ON for the rule to Run on change or to Run on device. By default, the rule is set to Run on device for profile rules.
  9. Choose a Color for the new rule set.
  10. Toggle ON for this rule set to be the default.
  11. In the Rule section, click New Rule.
  12. The Add New Rule page displays.

    Enter a Name for the new rule.
  13. For the rule's If statement:

    1. Select if the rule is to match All conditions or Any conditions.
    2. For the rule's If conditions, select the point type from the drop-down list and the associated event and any value statements, as needed.
    3. Continue to add new If conditions as needed.
  14. For the rule's Then action statement:

    1. Select the target action.
    2. Include a duration as needed.
    3. Continue to add new Then actions as needed.
  15. For the rule's When reset action:

    1. Select the target.
    2. Select the target action.
  16. Enter the time out period after which the rule execution ends.
  17. Click Create.
