Adding an Analog Input

  1. From the left navigation pane, click Hardware.
  2. From the top navigation bar, click Profiles.

  3. In the Hardware Profiles page, find and select the site profile to which you wish to add a device.
  4. Click Edit on the profile tile. You can also click Actions icon. and select Edit from the list.

  5. In the Edit Profile page, click the Configurations tab.

  6. Go to the Analog Input section, then click New Analog Input.
  7. On the Add New Input page, complete the details.

    Field

    Description

    Name

    Enter a unique and meaningful name.

    The name should contain only alphanumeric characters and no spaces.

    Up to 255 characters can be used.

    Description

    Enter more information about the device.

    General

    Input Logical ID

    Enter a unique identifier for the device connected to the S1000 Controller. Allowed range is 0-254.

    Device

    Select the configured device from the drop-down list.

    Physical ID on Device

    Enter the physical identifier for the input.

    This depends on the number of inputs present.

    Category

    Click + to find and select the appropriate category for the input.

    Area

    Click + to find and select the area where the device is located.

    By default, the area with the lowest logical ID in the site profile is selected.

    Sensor Type

    Click + to find and select the appropriate sensor type.

    Available options:

    • None - to configure a generic analog input.
    • Humidity - to configure a humidity level input.
    • Light - to configure a light detection input.
    • Temperature - to configure a temperature input.

    Compensation (V)

    Enter the initial compensation value in Volts for analog inputs.

    Reporting Frequency (s)

    Enter the time in seconds for how often the input level is reported.

    For the following fields, enter a value depending on the selected sensor type.

    Measurement units will automatically change depending on the selected Sensor Type.

    Tolerance (V)

    Enter the acceptable tolerance voltage for the analog input.

    Lower Value (V)

    Enter the minimum tolerance level before alarms are sent.

    High Value (V)

    Enter the maximum tolerance level before alarms are sent.

    Conversion

    Conversion Method

    Click + to find and select the conversion method.

    Reporting

    Report Events

    Turn on the toggle to record events.

    Report To

    Select the connection paths where the recorded events will be reported.

    Select the checkbox next to the option on the drop-down list or select the Select All checkbox.

    High Priority

    Turn on the toggle to assign high priority to this device.

    Report when Area State is

    Select which area states to report. Tick the checkbox next to the option on the drop-down list or tick Select All.

    Report when Area Custom Mode is

    Select which area custom modes to report. Tick the checkbox next to the option on the drop-down list or tick Select All.

  8. Click Create.
