Creating a New Rule Set

Sonitrol CORE offers a powerful and flexible Rules Engine. A Rule is a pre-configured instruction that automatically triggers an action (such as raising an alarm) when specific conditions related to an object's event are met. Rules let you automate different processes within your system.

Rule set is a combination of different rules. A rule set is a way to manage an organization or a large numbers of similar sites that share the same configuration of alarm reporting rules and Contact ID rules.

When changes are made to a rule set, all sites using this rule set are updated.

1. Click Hardware on the left navigation pane.
2. Click Rules on the top navigation bar.
3. Click Add Rule Set.
4. On the Add Rule Set page, enter a Name and Description for the rule.

5. Select the Organization for the rule set scope. To choose a different organization, remove the current selection and search for another organization.

6. Choose a Color for the new rule set.
7. Toggle ON for this rule set to be the default.
8. Add new rules.
9. Click Create.
