Adding a Sensor Board

  1. From the left navigation pane, click Hardware.
  2. From the top navigation bar, click Profiles.

  3. In the Hardware Profiles page, find and select the site profile to which you wish to add a device.
  4. Click Edit on the profile tile. You can also click Actions icon. and select Edit from the list.

  5. In the Edit Profile page, click the Configurations tab.

  6. In the Devices section, click New Device then select Sensor Board from the drop-down list.

    The Add New Sensor Board wizard displays.

  7. On the Select Template page, choose the Default Template.
  8. Click Next.
  9. On the Add Sensor Board page, complete the details.

    Field

    Description

    Name

    Enter a unique and meaningful name.

    The name should contain only alphanumeric characters and no spaces.

    Up to 255 characters can be used.

    Description

    Enter more information about the device.

    General

    Logical ID

    Enter a unique identifier for the device connected to the S1000 Controller. Allowed range is 0-254..

    Serial Port

    Click + to find and select the appropriate serial port.

    Available options:

    • Onboard Isolated - the board is using the PL4-PL5 connection on the S1000 Controller.
    • Onboard Non-Isolated - the board is using the PL5-PL6 connection on the S1000 Controller.

    Device Loop Address

    Enter the numerical value of the DIP switch.

    Area

    Click + to find and select the area where the device is located.

    By default, the area with the lowest logical ID in the site profile is selected.

    Reporting

    Report Events

    Turn on the toggle to record events.

    Report To

    Select the connection paths where the recorded events will be reported. Select the checkbox next to the option on the drop-down list or select the Select All checkbox.

    High Priority

    Turn on the toggle to assign high priority to this device.

  10. Click Next.
  11. On the Create Additional Points page, tick the checkbox next to the listed analog inputs and outputs that will be associated with the sensor board.
  12. Click Create.
