Adding a 4G Expansion Card
- From the left navigation pane, click Hardware.

From the top navigation bar, click Profiles.
- In the Hardware Profiles page, find and select the site profile to which you wish to add a device.

Click Edit on the profile tile. You can also click
and select Edit from the list. -
In the Edit Profile page, click the Configurations tab.

In the Devices section, click New Device then select 4G Expansion from the drop-down list.
The Add New 4G Expansion wizard displays.
- On the Select Template page, choose the Default Template.
- Click Next.

On the Add New 4G Expansion page, complete the details.
Field
Description
Name
Enter a unique and meaningful name.
The name should contain only alphanumeric characters and no spaces.
Up to 255 characters can be used.
Description
Enter more information about the device.
General
Logical ID
Enter a unique identifier for the device connected to the S1000 Controller. Allowed range is 0-254.
Expansion Slot
Click + to find and select the appropriate expansion slot on the S1000 Controller that is being used by this 4G Expansion Card.
Area
Click + to find and select the area where the device is located.
By default, the area with the lowest logical ID in the site profile is selected.
Reporting
Report Events
Turn on the toggle to record events.
Report To
Select the connection paths where the recorded events will be reported.
Select the checkbox next to the option on the drop-down list or select the Select All checkbox.
High Priority
Turn on the toggle to assign high priority to this device.
4G/GPRS Expansion
Toggle ON to enable.
SMS Enabled
Toggle OFF or ON to enable short messaging service.
Access Point Name
Enter a unique access point name for the controller.
User Name
Optional
Enter a username.
Password
Optional
Enter a password.
SIM PIN
Optional
Enter a PIN for the SIM card.
PDP
Optional
Enter the Packet Data Protocol IP address for the 4G/GPRS provider.
Backup SIM
Toggle OFF or ON if a secondary SIM card is being used.
Backup Access Point Name
Enter a unique backup access point name for the controller.
Backup User Name
Optional
Enter a backup username.
Backup Password
Optional
Enter a backup password.
Backup SIM PIN
Optional
Enter a backup PIN for the SIM card.
Backup PDP
Optional
Enter the Packet Data Protocol back up IP address for the 4G/GPRS provider.
WIFI
Toggle ON to enable.
Mode
Select the mode from the drop-down list to be Client or Hotspot.
SSID
Enter your Service Set Identifier as provided by your network administrator.
Password
Enter the associated WiFi password.
Security
Select the security type from the drop-down list.
Visibility
Select whether the WiFi network will broadcast the Service Set Identifier (SSID) every 100 milliseconds to let other devices know its presence, from the drop-down list.
Available options:
- Visible - the SSID is visible to other devices
- Hidden (no length) - the SSID is not broadcasted, which effectively causes it to disappear and become invisible to all devices that connect to WiFi networks.

Region
Select the WiFi region from the drop-down list.
- Click Next.
- On the Create Additional Points page, click Create.
