Adding a Contact ID Outbound Receiver Service

  1. From the left navigation pane, click System.
  2. From the top navigation bar, click Services. You can also click Features on the top navigation bar and click Services in the System Menu section.

    All the current available services are listed on the External Services page.

  3. Click Add Service.
  4. Complete the details.

    Field

    Description

    Service Type

    Select Contact ID Outbound Receiver from the drop-down list.

    Name

    Enter a unique name for this service.

    Description

    Enter more details about the service.

    Organization

    The default organization is Global.

    To choose a different organization, click x to remove the default, then find and select a different organization.

    Contact ID Receiver Details

    Select the Type of Port

    Select the port type from the drop-down list.

    Choose from Serial or TCP/IP.

    If Serial is the port type selected:

    Serial Port

    Enter the port number of the digital receiver.

    Baud Rate

    Select the baud rate from the drop-down list.

    If TCP/IP is the port type selected:

    IP Address

    Enter the IP address of the digital receiver.

    Port

    Enter the port number of the digital receiver.

    Digital Receiver Protocol Configuration

    Heartbeat Message

    Enter the message that will be sent to the digital receiver to indicate that it is operating normally.

    Heartbeat Acknowledge Message

    Enter the message that the digital receiver will send as acknowledgment that a heartbeat message is received.

    Heartbeat Period (milliseconds)

    Enter the time interval in milliseconds that heartbeat messages will be sent.

    Send Heartbeat

    Toggle OFF or ON to send a heartbeat message.

    Message Acknowledge

    Enter the message that the digital receiver responses with to verify communication.

    Message Negative Acknowledge

    Enter the message that the digital receiver responses with to reject a previously received message or to indicate an error.

    Message Response Time Out (milliseconds)

    Enter the time interval in milliseconds that is used to verify as a communication failure.

    S Test Message

    Enter the message text that will be used for the poll test.

    S Test Acknowledge

    Enter the acknowledgment message that will be received when checking line integrity.

    S Test Period (milliseconds)

    Enter the time in milliseconds for a poll from the monitoring station to the digital receiver to check line integrity.

    For example, enter 1 to send 1 poll every second.

    Send S Test

    Toggle OFF or ON to send a S Test message.

  5. Click Create.
