Template Organizations
Template organizations are pre-configured organizations that can be used as templates to create new organizations. Templates are designed to help you quickly and easily set up new organizations without having to create one from scratch, thus saving you workload and cost. Template organizations can have pre-defined configurations for the following:
-
Users and User Roles
-
Dashboards (Role, Sites, Alarm)
-
Marker Templates
-
Calendars
-
Schedules
-
Day Types
-
Hardware Profiles
-
Rules
When new organizations are copied from a template, all the objects configured in the template are copied to the new organization. You can modify the templates to fit your unique needs.
There are certain guidelines that you should keep in mind while creating templates.
-
It is recommended that you keep the template organization and its objects generic. Do not configure specific settings, references or images in the template. Images are not copied when you create an organization from a template.
-
You must have access to both template organizations and the parent organization to create organizations from a template and assign it to the parent organization.
-
While creating objects in a template, it is recommended that you insert key values in the object names. You can assign values to these keys while copying organizations from the template. For example, <key1>.calendarname.<key2> or user.<key3>.name.
Note: You can insert a maximum of 3 key values.

Create a templates from the Add Entry page. For information about creating new templates, see Adding a Child Organization.

Create an operator role and add it to the template using the Add Operator Role page. For information about adding operator roles, see Creating A New Operator Role.

Now log in to the new template using the credentials created in Step 3.
-
Create users, user roles, dashboards, calendars and other template objects as you wish and assign them to the template.
