Adding an Inovonics Transmitter

Tip: Add the Inovonics Receiver first, before any other Inovonics devices.
  1. Log on to the Sonitrol CORE.
  2. From the left navigation pane, click Hardware.
  3. From the top navigation bar, click Profiles.

  4. In the Hardware Profiles page, find and select the site profile to which you wish to add a device.
  5. Click Edit on the profile tile. You can also click Actions icon. and select Edit from the list.

  6. In the Edit Profile page, click the Configurations tab.

  7. Go to the Device section, click New Device then select Inovonics from the drop-down list.

    The Add New Inovonics wizard displays.

  8. On the Select Template page, choose the Default Template.
  9. Click Next.
  10. On the Add Inovonics page, complete the details.

    Field

    Description

    Name

    Enter a unique and meaningful name.

    The name should contain only alphanumeric characters and no spaces.

    Up to 255 characters can be used.

    Description

    Enter more information about the Inovonics Receiver.

    General

    Logical ID

    Enter a unique identifier for the device connected to the S1000 Controller. Allowed range is 0-254.

    Area

    Click + to find and select the area where the device is located.

    Product Type

    Click + to find and select Serial Receiver.

    Product Model

    Click + to find and select the receiver model.

    • Select EN4000 for environmental and security devices.
    • Select EN4200 for security devices only.

    Serial Number

    Enter the serial number of the Inovonics Receiver.

    The serial number is usually found on a sticker on the device or inside the cover.

    Parent

    Click + to find and select Controller as the parent.

    Serial Port

    Click + to find and select Onboard Isolated as the serial port.

    Signal Change

    Use the default signal change of 5dB.

    Signal Minimum

    Use the default minimum signal of 30dB.

    Offline Timeout

    Use the default offline timeout of 45 seconds.

    Receivers check-in every 30 seconds, so 45 seconds should be enough time to prevent unwanted off-line events, but still report the receiver as off-line when it is actually off-line.

    Reporting

    Report Events

    Turn on the toggle to record events.

    Report To

    Select the connection paths where the recorded events will be reported. Select the checkbox next to the option on the drop-down list or select the Select All checkbox.

    High Priority

    Turn on the toggle to assign high priority to this device.

  11. Click Next.
  12. On the Create Additional Points screen, click Create.

    If applicable, Sonitrol CORE automatically creates the associated inputs.
