Setting up Third Party Alarm Panels in Sonitrol CORE
There are a number of steps to add third party alarm panels to Sonitrol CORE.
The card access database, including role mapping, schedules and calendars, is synchronized from S1000 to the third party panel if it supports card access.
- Log on to Sonitrol CORE.
- From the left navigation pane, click Hardware.

From the top navigation bar, click Profiles.
- In the Hardware Profiles page, find and select the site profile to which you wish to add a device.

Click Edit on the profile tile. You can also click
and select Edit from the list. -
In the Edit Profile page, click the Configurations tab.
- In the S1000 section, select the specific controller then click configure on the tile.
- Click the Serial tab.

In the Isolated section, make changes to the following fields:

Description
Protocol Type
Select Third Party Panel from the drop-down list.
Baud Rate
Make sure that the correct baud rate is selected for the third party alarm panel type.
Parity
Select None from the drop-down list.
Bits
Select One from the drop-down list.

Click Reset.
- Log on to Sonitrol CORE.
- From the left navigation pane, click Hardware.

From the top navigation bar, click Profiles.
- In the Hardware Profiles page, find and select the site profile to which you wish to add a device.

Click Edit on the profile tile. You can also click
and select Edit from the list. -
In the Edit Profile page, click the Configurations tab.

In the Device section, click New Device then select Third Party Alarm Panel from the drop-down list.
The Add New Third Party Alarm Panel wizard displays.
- On the Select Template page, choose an appropriate template.
- Click Next.

On the Add Third Party Alarm Panel dialog box, complete the details.
Field
Description
Name
Enter a unique and meaningful name.
The name should contain only alphanumeric characters and no spaces.
Up to 255 characters can be used.
Description
Enter more information about the third party alarm panel.
General
Logical ID
Enter a unique identifier for the device connected to the S1000 Controller.
Serial Port
Click + to select Onboard Isolated.
Area
Click + to find and select the appropriate area where the alarm panel is located.
Panel Type
Click + to find and select the third party alarm panel type.
User Delete
Toggle OFF or ON for users to be able to be deleted from the third party alarm panel.
Reporting
Report Events
Turn on the toggle to record events.
Report To
Select the connection paths where the recorded events will be reported.
Select the checkbox next to the option on the drop-down list or select the Select All checkbox.
High Priority
Turn on the toggle to assign high priority to this device.

Click Next.
- On the Create Additional Points screen, tick the checkboxes for additional inputs and outputs to be associated with the third party alarm panel.
- Click Create.
- Log on to the Sonitrol CORE.
- From the left navigation pane, click Hardware.

From the top navigation bar, click Profiles.
- In the Hardware Profiles page, find and select the site profile to which you wish to add a device.

Click Edit on the profile tile. You can also click
and select Edit from the list. -
In the Edit Profile page, click the Configurations tab.

In the Device section, click New Device then select Third Party Sub Device from the drop-down list.
The Add New Third Party Sub Device wizard displays.
- On the Select Template page, choose the Default Template.
- Click Next.

On the Add Third Party Sub Device page, complete the details.

Enter the unique identifier assigned to the sub device connected to the third party alarm panel.
Area
Click + to find and select the appropriate area where the sub device is located.
Reporting
Report Events
Turn on the toggle to record events.
Report To
Select the connection paths where the recorded events will be reported.
Select the checkbox next to the option on the drop-down list or select the Select All checkbox.

Turn on the toggle to assign high priority to this device.
